I follow stockwatch as well to see the other platforms bids and offers.

Thanks lwtfu, I am aware how Anonymous works. A public company can also get a monthly report that reveals all the anonymous trades, for a fee of course.

I agree on the other platforms etc. I see it on stockwatch all the time, even thinly traded stocks like ZON, they are stealing the pennies on millions of trades per day with the front running.

A friend I know put a bid in for ZON for 30k shares through RBC, but only 15k showed, the other 15k went on Neo. If they want to make the stock look weaker or stronger they play with the orders. Often orders are fake as well, when you hit the price, they remove them.

I think it is all very disgusting

It definitely comes down to the number of trades you make per month.

You can just google it to find out.

Personally I really dont care about anonymous.

What I don't like is the trading from all the different exchanges and dark pools where front running happens.

If I'm trying to buy under 1000 shares in a thinly traded security, it usually never shows up on the TSX.

Just go on stock watch and see where all the trading took place yesterday.

lwtfu interesting. Do they charge an extra fee? I don't think it is available with retail houses, banks, but you can use anonymous with all the full service houses

If you trade using Interactive Brokers there is an option to make your trade appear anonymous.

But this could easily be some be some clearing house as well.
