I'm not sure what to think here. One one hand, I believe there will be fewer eyes in the area with a guy like Shawn Ryan leaving but on the other hand I'm fine with it as the Zonte crew looked at the lands, decided they didn't want the pieces they released to Torq, and kept the good stuff.

My main question is, why wouldn't Torq hold out for the Zonte drills to yield results before dropping their claims? Seems to me Torq would have access to Zonte's presentation and possibly more so holding for another month or two would have provided some return if they expect something to come out of Zonte's drilling.

I'm by no means an expert in this space (signed up here to soak up knowledge) so, everyone, please feel free to challenge/correct my thinking.

What you guys think about the fact that TORQ is moving away from Newfoundland ? Any negative impact for ZON ?

I spoke with Terry yesterday. He is such a solid leader in his field. Candidly, he can not tell us a lot about Columbia other than to say that things legally seem to slow down at certain points and it is hard to explain why that happens. However this process still seems to be on track flowing in a positive vein.

My non qualified opinion: it seems to me that Columbia, if successful, will represent only a fraction of the opportunity that Nfld represents.

Regarding Nfld, very excited. The drills will prove the discovery shortly however the initial sampling bodes well for Zonte not to mention the premium for a safe haven country like Canada. I am not a geologist however this discovery seems like an outlier. How many opportunities like this one exist in the entire world today in like circumstances and how much would someone pay to take this over?

I believe we just had a well known neighbor move out of the neighborhood...

VANCOUVER, British Columbia, Oct. 23, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Torq Resources Inc. (TSX-V: TORQ, “Torq” or the “Company”)has decided, based upon the scale and risk of the opportunities, that West Mercur and Newfoundland do not meet the Company’s strict geological requirements. The projects will no longer represent a financial obligation for Torq, allowing the Company to focus on the acquisition of projects that will deliver the highest shareholder value. Torq is currently reviewing several opportunities.

A Statement from Michael Kosowan, President and CEO:

“The Company is well-financed with over $13M in its treasury. In these opportunistic markets, we are confident in making more accretive acquisitions that will lead to a world-class gold discovery.”

ron, I don't think 10% is the factor, it is Anglo cannot build the mine without it. But 10% about 5 to 600,000 ounces at $100/oz is $50 to $60M

BTW, here is depth

For this we need anything from Colombia. Only with drilling this Share Price is impossible

Ultimately drilling a discovery will be worth much more. At Gramalote ZON maybe has around 10% of the Pit resource, at Cross Hills they will have 100% of a discovery.

The clock is ticking for year end though, to get first drill results

Agree, we will need results for $3 plus
