JimB replied the topic: Zonte’s Wings Point at the NE end of Stratton
Struthers was not sure where Zonte’s Wings Point is relative to the Stratton claims.

When one compares the map Ron Struthers posted above, with the one of Wings Point at the top of the Wings Point project report on the Zonte site
www.zontemetals.com/projects/wings-point/

it is obvious that Wings Point is at the NE end of the Stratton Resources claims. The marker on the Zonte map is Wings Point. One can zoom in to see the words “Wings Point” on the west side of Gander Bay. Main Point is on the east side.

Also one can see the same shapes of the bays intruding the area from the NE on the map in white above.

Exactly where Zontes claim is, relative to the words “Wings Point,” is not clear, but the straight line at the NE end of Stratton’s claim seems abrupt and probably Wings Point claim is an extension of that on the NE.

Zonte’s report says Wings Point is 30 miles north of the town of Gander. Gander is on Gander Lake, a long narrow lake oriented east to west (zoom out on the map on Zonte’s map at the link). One can see that the southwestern end of Stratton’s claims are at the west end of the lake. So Stratton’s claim must be somewhat over 30 Km long. The 88 km on the map above must be for both Palisades and Stratton claims.

Zonte's 10 square miles is rather small by comparison, but one could hope the most productive of the whole area.

Simply amazing, I thought there might be a staking rush and area play in NFLD, it is already happening

Here is a map of Stratton and Palisade claims but I have not had time to figure orientation if ZON is near the top end or bottom end

Staking rush in NFLD in 2016, 1st Shawn Ryan, now I find out Sheldon Inwentash of Pinetree Capital fame is back in the mining market. He has started Palisade Resources, their biggest holdings is 14 properties in NFLD, Basically Ryan and Palisade have stake the whole belt Zonte is on. Here is a few tidbits from a report by Palisade Research, separate company although same first name.

""" The Gander Belt – In Canada’s Hottest Mining Jurisdiction

Believe it or not, Newfoundland underwent one of the most intense staking rushes in late 2016, largely under the radar of most of the mining community. The area was picking up steam due to the success of Marathon Gold’s drilling campaign at Valentine Lake, and Altius Minerals’ prospecting at Wilding Lake, which was optioned off to Antler Gold.

Prior to, Denis was busy consolidating the Linear area, 15 kilometers west of the town of Gander in north-central Newfoundland.""

Gander is close to where ZON is

Denis is Sheldon's partner

""""The area has been worked on since the 1980s by the likes of Noranda, Rubicon Minerals, and Paragon Minerals, drilling 94 holes totalling 8,883 meters, excavating 81 trenches, collecting 5,000 soil samples and 1,000 bedrock and float samples. Furthermore, the area was subject to intense magnetic and VLF-EM geophysical surveys, 22 kilometres of IP surveys, and numerous prospecting and geological mapping campaigns.

However, like many other projects, the claims were dropped due to the collapse of gold prices and the markets in general, and the area soon became a rag-tag collection of land owned by 16 different groups.

Clean up time. Denis painstakingly consolidated the area, first establishing relationships with the salt-of-the-Earth prospectors, and eventually negotiating contracts. A process that took well over a year, but in the end, worth the effort.""

With Linear consolidated, Denis’ plan of attack was to stake the entire Gander belt, starting north before working his way down south. In late November 2016, Denis woke to a full email inbox and numerous missed calls from prospectors in Newfoundland. Legendary prospector, Shawn Ryan, had staked 4,800 claims and 120,000 hectares overnight, dropping a cool $300,000.

Shawn Ryan made his name in the Yukon, founding the multi-million ounce White Gold deposit currently owned by Kinross, and also single-handedly igniting the second Yukon Gold Rush back in 2011. Shawn had apparently been soil sampling in the Gander Zone for years leading up to this blitz, and it was apparent he was not done staking. Fortunately for Denis, Shawn had left the portion of the belt he really had his eyes on. And through a lot of research and counsel from his technical advisors, the decision was made to chase the system to the south along the Botwood Basin and Davidsville contact.

Utilizing the same strategy deployed by Shawn, Denis and his associates waited till late in the night and logged onto Newfoundland’s online staking program. Within 30 minutes, Palisade Resources claimed the south, staking 3,500 claims and 92,400 hectares, spanning over 85 kilometers. Palisade now controls the most advanced historic projects in the belt as well as the southern half.

Victoria Gold has dropped from $.66 to $.53 since about Feb. 8. That is when Zonte, after a significant pull-back from $.37, moved from $.25 to the present $.42 (recent high of $.47).

Victoria mentions neighboring Zonte to strengthen their case, but I wonder how many take a look at Zonte and discover that it is the better deal with a market cap still now of just slightly over $17 million ($22.25 million fully diluted), compared to Victoria's $317 million, and decide to jump ship.

ron, often more to financing than the price on surface. Remember about a year ago they struggled to raise $150k to keep the Colombia court case alive.

On Jest, I think they wanted to be sure they had enough funds for property payment and 1st exploration round and drilling. From talking to Terry he was pretty stunned by the response, a couple months ago he could get few to take his calls now they are all calling him.

A lot of those that came in the 10 cent financing did not get enough and have been buying in the market, so there true average price is probably north of 20 cents.

All in all not that dilutive as we are still at about 40M shares outstanding and 3 projects.

What would have happened if Terry went on the road asking 20 cents financing when the stock was trading at 10 ?? Good question, maybe would have got nothing or maybe more for less dilution??

I think the good move was surviving all these years without diluting. The market is different now and the dilution does not matter so much
