Maybe Zonte will become in the near future a cryptocurrency instead of a mining stock...lol...

Here is another example. on Gran Colombia's 43-10 on Marmato dated November 2019. Note that SRK consultants advised the company to accelerate resolutions. Go to page 57

""SRK notes within the transfer of licenses from the previous owner, there is a gap between the existing licenses for Zona Baja and Echandia. This ground is under application from the Company with the Colombia government for formal approval to continue mining. SRK has reviewed the application within the government website and notes that the status is defined as “in progress”, which has been in place
since September 30, 2009. The Company is taking steps to get the approval finalized.

Mining by GCM within this area has historically been conducted through the current operations and it has been reported to SRK that this area is under application for adjustment of the status for inclusion in the current mining operations of GCM. As the area represented by this gap contains approximately 8.7% of Measured & Indicated resources in Zona Baja and 1.9% of Inferred resources in Zona Baja, SRK recommends that GCM accelerate its effort to obtain government resolution on this gap as it
could potentially result in loss of Mineral Resources (and future Reserves). Only approximately 2.3% of the total LOM gold production included in the proposed mine plan for Zona Baja contained herein is sourced from the area represented by this gap.""

Check out Gran Colombia's 43-101 on their Segovia Project in Colombia. It is another example of fractional claims, and 'no' they did not change with the new mining law in 2019. Go to pages 44 to 46

"The exploration licenses and third-party titles are in gaps between the original mining titles which were unified to create RPP 140 in 1998. The area of 2,871 ha for RPP 140 is net of the exploration licenses and third-party titles."

I am going to check their other 43-101s

Way to go Hoss

"which categorized the potential impact risk to the Project, as low."

AnglGold and B2Gold are worth about $14 billion. I guess if they had to pay $100 million to Zonte, that could be low risk to them :) :)

Thanks Hoss, great find. Also consider who the court may favour, the milt-billion foreign company or the local Colombian miners (Zonte's partners)?

Here is Zonte's press release so you can see both sides of the story.

Zonte Metals Inc. has provided the following update on the Gramalote mineral rights application.

As previously announced, in a press release dated Nov. 19, 2015, Zonte, along with a Colombian partner, made application for open ground sitting over the Gramalote deposit. Gramalote is host to a gold deposit located in Colombia and subject to a joint venture between AngloGold Ashanti and B2Gold (collectively, Gramalote Colombia Ltd.). The application was subject to review by the Secretaria de Minas (Secretary of Mines), Department of Antioquia, Colombia, which acknowledged that the area under application has open ground, but, to date, has denied issuing the title to the partners, which has required the partners to pursue the matter through the Colombian courts with the objective of having the application processed in accordance with the mining code. The mining code in Colombia was modified in 2019; however, the issue remains grandfathered by the original mining code in effect at the time of the application. The case is active and continuing.

The open areas under application made by the partners, according to a technical study generated by the Secretariat of Mine of Antioquia, covers 29.8 hectares of which portions are above the pit outline of two resources.

Among the conditions of the case, the area under application is considered to be open ground and hence no exploration or mining activity is to be carried out by any party until the court has ruled. The partners continue to be active with the case and are waiting for a court date for the trial. Updates will be provided as appropriate.
