i remember cbs did a reporting on naked shorting 5-6 yeras ago,seems the regulations are more severe now,so history can't repeat itself,
but it seems easier to manipulate penny stocks in the US than in canada,

I believe anyone can short a stock. You do need a short margin account set up and a certain amount of cash on hand as margin. Usually depends on the stock you are shorting.

Maybe TD no longer offers short margin accounts?? have never dealt there.

Market makers have a different set of rules and basically can short as they please. In many cases they cover within 3 days (the settlement period) so they never have to report shorts. in the U.S. FINRA reports the daily short trading on all stocks and it is very significant.

It is mainly penny stocks that see the abuse because they can be easily manipulated.



Many years ago, Market Makers mostly bought stock so they could sell in the market - (help make a market). Now they mostly short a stock and then buy it back, their behavior can be different with different stocks and markets.


Jitney is mostly used by large trading houses and brokerages to move stock. Often you will see it between exchanges, if stock is bought in the US, the broker will use jitney to buy in Canada and settle the trade on the US side. Same way a short position could be moved with Jitney between different brokers/houses.

Yes they would probably sell. Could spin out Jest to any buyer and we would still hold what ever was left in ZON at the time. Much could change by then?

Looks like stock might consolidate it take a rest around 32, see where we end up today, still looking strong.

I don't believe zonte will ever become a producer. they are in it to sell there properties.
if they sell, a $5 share price is reasonable. we are years away from anything like that.
just think we are in 4 to 5 year right now, and this is the first time the stock price up.
even with the claims in Columbia. this pop is all because of JEST.

If Zonte property reaches that level of production, that would be $124.4 million profit ($1260 [present price of gold] - $638 = $622/oz. x 200,000), Put a PE on that of just 10, and the market cap would be $1.244 billion, or 78 times the present market cap of about $16 million. That would mean a future share price of about $25! Some dilution may be needed to raise funds, but Wing Point and Gramalote could help get there.

I think there was a post earlier, but it is the prospector or vendor that owned the claims. It is Bill as you point out , I think it is in the link. Randell is the geologist that has done some work on the Jest property
