Thanks Hoss, many people will say $0.5 cents no big deal, but if you consider 200M on TSX trading volume a day and 20M on venture, this works out to potentially $110,000 per day on this spread and all done with computers.

Just another way the banks skim money off of people in this Country

Guys, I looked into these platforms quite a bit but some time ago. They are best described as dark pools and their main purpose is to hide trading.

"A dark pool is a private exchange that allows investors to trade securities while providing them anonymity. These types of exchanges are usually preferred by institutional investors who want to avoid getting front-run or allowing the wider market to gain information on their trades. While they might sound shady, private exchanges are completely legal in the United States and regulated by the SEC."

tokenist.com/investing/dark-pool-trading/

It is harder to find info in Canada, I found most by searching individual platforms. GB you are correct, for example NEO Exchange is backed by large institutional investors such as OMERS Capital Markets, Barclays and CI Investments.

The CEO said in his sale pitch "Aequitas NEO receive more reliable quotes than on the TSX. Aequitas argues that on exchanges where high-frequency traders have an advantage, orders placed by regular investors at prevailing prices are often cancelled in milliseconds by these speedy players who detect slower participants' activity. As a result, liquidity that appears to be available can vanish in an instant."

Here is a TSX news release on Alpha and Alpha Dark
www.tmx.com/newsroom/press-releases?id=1161

Here is an old news article from the Globe that says Alpha is owned by Canadian Banks and they were saying alternate platforms were about 30% to 35%.
www.theglobeandmail.com/globe-investor/t...stem/article1214835/

However, now they are over 50% and the other big way Canadians are getting fleece, we can only enter orders by 0.5 cents on cheap stocks. That guarantees these platforms and market makers 0.5 on a trade.

For example, in the US, I could enter an order for Zonte at $0.10253 or any fraction penny there of, in Canada I have to go $0.10 or $0.105. The better pricing they talk about on the Canadian platforms is for the big guys only

Kind of long, hope it helps. My conclusion is these are proven bad news for retail traders, because there are 2 sets of rules

And GB, I agree no data on Canadian shorting is pitiful

Pasta, I have seen the same with my orders. The point is that it is the market makers and banks making the choices and not us. Too bad it is not a combined platform, because only the market makers, banksters and maybe elites get to chose and use these other platforms. We cannot route orders there. Even my full service broker knows little about these platforms. I do know some of them are owned by banks or banks have part interest.

Most retail traders do not even see these orders go through.

We need transparency, on US stocks I can check everyday on how many short sales there were. We can only guess and surmise in Canada. We get a report every 2 weeks and most have already covered by then. A snapshot twice a month is useless, same thing as a broken clock being right twice a day.

The one thing that is fact, is the TSXV is the worst performing stock market in the world. Something is wrong

When I sell or buy my order goes through the other platforms and sometimes not. Its just the way the trading platforms work together. There is no distinguishing between shorts and other platforms. All platforms should be treated as one combined platform of trading because that's what it is.

Looks like a lot of shorting into this buying, almost half the selling is coming from the other trading platforms, the banksters. RBC doing most of the buying.

I will try and post end of day summary

Here is the news release

Halifax, NS, Canada / TheNewswire / February 6, 2024 Zonte Metals (TSXV:ZON) is pleased to provide the following update on the Cross Hills Copper Project, located in Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada.

A project wide soil program was completed in 2023, with the primary goals of infilling known targets and exploring new areas. The recently completed soil program was conducted through a large valley that hosts the K6S and K7 gravity anomalies. This area sits adjacent and just south of the K6 Target, where a drill program was recently completed.

The soil data has identified a notable semi-circular copper-in-soil anomaly measuring 2400m in length and up to 800m in width. This area is mainly covered with overburden, however, during the sampling program a new copper showing was discovered in the K7 gravity anomaly area. This large soil anomaly coincides with three gravity anomalies including those at the K6S and K7 areas and an unnamed anomaly situated between them. Additionally, the soil anomaly coincides with a structural zone hosting the K7 gravity anomaly, which is intersected and truncated by a large structural corridor that hosts the K6S anomaly.

Two drill holes were completed in the K7 target in 2020, both from the same drill pad on the very SE portion of the target area. Both drill holes intersected IOCG mineralization including anomalous copper and rare earth mineralization. These drill holes, however, were completed prior to the additional exploration programs carried out over the last three years.

The Company also notes it has recently completed drilling on the K6 Target. The K6 Target area was previously drilled in 2019 with a limited dataset. Subsequent to these 2019 drill holes, the Company has carried three years of additional geological, geophysical and geochemical exploration. The just completed drill program, comprising of 1700m in seven drill holes, tested drill targets generated from analysis of the combined datasets. This new drilled area sits about 200-300m south of the 2019 drill holes. The cores have been logged, split and all samples have been submitted for analysis. Results will be reported when received and compiled.

A map illustrating the new large soil anomaly over the K6S-K7 area is illustrated below. Additional maps illustrating the targets throughout the project can be found at the following link www.zontemetals.com/projects/cross-hills-copper-property .

Stock go up and down because markets change, fundamentals change and investors change their
perceptions. After such a long wait, I believe things are going to change for Zonte this year. After a
lot of work, Terry Christopher has figured out Mother Natures secrets at Cross Hills. Let me explain
and some good education on copper deposits. First a look at the top three copper bearing minerals.
You can find pure native copper and that is what the ancienst mined back in the bronze age.
Modern science has come a long way since then. Chalcopyrite, a sulphide mineral is the most
common copper mineral and contains about 34% copper by weight.

ron, I don't think the grade will matter much for a major. If Zonte proves that their exploration model found copper, it is more a matter of more drilling to find economic deposits of size.

The majors are interested because it is a large district scale project that has potential for large deposits, its an IOCG and it is in a stable geopolitcal location. The other highlight is it would be a new copper belt that has very little exploration drilling.

Well thats my take

Excellent find lynnsa10, keep it up, Gambler, hoping Zonte's grades will be higher than 0.56 %, otherwise, the share price will stay flat, maybe it will take around 0.85 % to 1 % of copper for the share price to move up,

I'm not a geologist, I asked what percentage of copper is needed to attract a major, no one answered.

Pasta, Zonte decided to concentrate in Newfoundland instead of Yukon, more potentiel and Victoria Gold is doing the drilling for now, you must have forgot I presume.
