DJ, yea the market is going crazy and you would not know it.

Take the third quarter of 2023, when there were 323 M&A announcements totaling $14 billion, according to GlobalData’s Deals Database. The biggest one was the $3.4B minority acquisition of Vale Base Metals by Engine No. 1 and Manara Minerals Investment.

In Canada alone, there were 121 M&A deals totaling $3.9B — a whopping 323% increase compared to Q2’s $842.8 million, and 597% more than the third quarter of 2022.

The higher gold and copper prices will get the whole market moving faster. There is already piles of deals going on and it will increase as more and more fear of missing out. It has been many years since we had activity like this.

None of it is in the news, most under the radar

ron, the JV deals work about the same just different prices, amounts and earn ins

As an example, Company X does a JV deal with Zonte on Cross Hills

X agrees to pay $250k and spend $3 million within 2 years to earn 25% in Cross Hills

X pays another $400k and spend $5 million on exploration within 4 year anniversary for 51% of Cross Hills

X Pays $1 million and spends $10M on exploration within 6 year anniversary to earn 75%.

and X must take the project to feasibility stage and Zonte is carried for their 25% interest until production.

The deals are usually more costly as they progress so company X can spend some money to see if it is worth spending more. Company X can drop out of the deal at anytime, giving up their cash payments and money spent.

Often the deals involve shares of company X or cash and shares

Gambler, Jocko, not really sure how those JV deals are done, maybe Hoss would know better, Zonte has great properties in Newfoundland and in the Yukon, the McConnells Jest project has been sleeping for too long some would say,

I can't believe VGCX doesn't have an eye on it, but the price has to be good for Zonte, with gold moving up, and this time it might be for a longer period than only six months, maybe a deal can be made, also the trial date in Colombia that could be announced anytime soon,

one thing is certain, shareholders of Zonte would like things to ramp up a bit faster in 2024, impatience is growing, don't want to put you pressure Terry Christopher...lol...

If majors aren't buying the stock, institutions aren't either, the interest rate is still keeping them on the sidelines as RonS explained, that's a huge disappointment, will see how it goes, I'm still optimistic and confident that Zonte will deliver for shareholders this year !!!

I am thinking that B2Gold may wish to takeover Zonte. As the price of gold rises the Zonte settlement amount will increase. B2Gold know that the Keno district in the Yukon has good prospects and Zonte is in the thick of it. If Zonte get good drill results in Newfoundland then B2Gold may see this as an opportunity to good to overlook.

It's a new ball game and those results will get the majors extremely interested. And I can tell you that all of them are following this.

One thing I don't understand, when the stock is cheap, why majors aren't buying now, as the saying goes, buy low sell high ?

Pasta, I don't believe Zonte did a commodity switch. First off IOCGs are known for gold as well. Remember the high grade copper and gold hit early on?

2nd we have been in the worst bear market for juniors in history. It is way more cost effective to explore in NFLD instead of Yukon.

Drilling more expensive in Yukon so Zonte would have to raise a chunk of cash.

Interesting news today shows how under valued Zonte is. Great Pacific is issuing 12.5 million shares valued at C$16.25 million to acquire the Tinga Valley Copper/Gold Property and it has not even had 1 drill hole yet, but it is in a known copper belt.
