Analysts have estimated that hiring slowed to a still-healthy pace of 190,000 added jobs last month, according to a survey by the data provider FactSet. That would mark a decline from the robust 253,000 jobs that were gained in April and would fall below the average for the previous three months of about 220,000. The unemployment rate is projected to rise slightly to 3.5% from a five-decade low of 3.4%.

I am guessing 225k, anyone else

Jobs numbers tomorrow
The consensus estimate is for nonfarm payroll to increase 239K in March vs. +311K in February, with unemployment rate unchanged at 3.6%.

I go with 170k. The Fed needs a low number so they will make one

Wow employers added a booming 517,000 jobs in January as hiring unexpectedly surged despite high inflation, rising interest rates and the prospect of a weakening economy.

The unemployment rate fell from 3.5% to 3.4%, lowest since 1969, the Labor Department said Friday.

Economists surveyed by Bloomberg had forecast 185,000 job gain.

This gives the Fed a lot more room to raise rates

alex, good point. I think the markets will eventually buckle because The Fed will probably take rates to high and we get a hard landing. You can see the layoff notices rising

It's Fed day and 1/2 point expected. I think what Powell says at 2.30 might rattle markets

Nonfarm payrolls are expected to increase about 200K in October, down from the 263K jobs added in September. The number came in at 261,000. I was going to guess 250k but slept in lol

The number came in at 263K around consensus, but inflation woes will remain
as the unemployment rate dropped lower to 3.5%

Economists expect non-farm payrolls to expand by 250K jobs in July, lower than the 372K seen in the previous month.

Economists are clueless. The number came in at 528k, a booming job market. Int rates going way higher. Probably market tumbles today??
