Rio Tinto has disclosed the maiden Inferred Mineral Resource at the 100% owned Winu copper-gold project and revealed the discovery of a new zone of gold dominant mineralisation approximately 2 km east of the Winu deposit in the Paterson Province of Western Australia.

The Inferred Mineral Resource, reported at a 0.2% copper equivalent cutoff, is 503Mt at 0.45% copper equivalent (CuEq). This includes a higher grade component of 188Mt at 0.68% CuEq at a cutoff grade of 0.45% CuEq.

Here is one example of Africa's largest copper mine. First Quantum Minerals’ (FQM) Sentinel mine produced 233 kt of copper in 2021, making it Africa’s biggest copper mine. Sentinel has a current resource of over 800 Mt at 0.45% Cu.

I don't think we need to see 0.4% or 0.9% right away. Something like 0.1% to 0.3% would be a good start. However as drilling progresses to 50 to 100 holes, we want to see averages of at least 0.4%. Zonte could have grades of over 1 and 2% but how it averages out is important.

I expect grades will be all over the map in early days. The key point is they have to find something this go around

I guess step-out drilling results will have a stronger impact on the share price than infill drilling results.

Interesting reading,

COPPER: Anything over 100 metres and 1% copper equivalent or better is considered to be high-grade. For example, Serengeti Resources announced 119.6 metres of 0.9% copper equivalent (copper plus gold values added together) at depths from 180 to 300 metres. The stock then increased from $0.30 to $1.50 after those drilling results were reported.

Thanks Lynnsa. I did watch it last night and is an excellent interview

ron, I think Struthers came up with 0.4% because there are copper mines producing around this grade. Of course the higher the better, but it is still early days here. I would be surprised if Zonte makes what can be called a discovery hole, but widths 5 to 20m would be a start.

Lets see what the results bring

Here is the Zonte Video. Terry has done a lot of work advancing these targets, the stock should be all up hill from here.

The grand master RonS sent an extraordinary newsletter today, he wrote ;

-"What we want to see in these drill results is around 0.4% copper
over some decent widths.
"

Someone has an idea of what some "decent widths" are, 75-95 meters ...?

btw, I thought 0.79% + copper was the grade we were hoping and expecting !!!

Go Zonte Go

( sorry Pasta, couldn't help myself)

Ron, I've been sitting on some of my shares I purchased at .21 cents many years ago and have not made any money.
Maybe one day it will cash in but until then sitting on this stock is only giving me a bad case of Hemorrhoids.

Never anything wrong with a profit. For me these juniors are very volatile so I think you need more than 40% gain to offset the losers. I usually look for triple digit gains over 100%

Ron that's funny, you know I'm trying to get out of Zonte. When it dropped to 6 cents I purchased some around 7 and 8 cents and sold all of it at .105 cents last week I believe.
I still have some that I want to sell but hopefully at much higher prices.
i am not buying
