Dixon isn’t concerned. The company owns more land near Peers than is used by Canada’s other 43 licensed cannabis producers, and business is booming, especially with the prospect of legalized recreational sales next year.
“There’s a real shortage of medical cannabis in the marketplace. It looks like it will take a few years for the industry to catch up,” he says, adding consistency is one of the keys to success.
“That’s important for the recreational market as well. They find something that’s just their favourite … you better have it the next time.”

I was checking out the Green Relief web site, quite interesting. I seen this announcement there and was surprised there is 30 licensed growers now in Canada to sell Pot
OTTAWA, April 6, 2016 – The Canadian Medical Cannabis Industry Association (CMCIA) has announced that two new members have joined the Association. Green Relief Inc., based in Flamborough, Ontario, and Supreme Pharmaceuticals Inc., with a head office in Toronto and a seven acre hybrid greenhouse in Kincardine, Ontario, are licensed to produce medical cannabis under Health Canada’s Marihuana for Medical Purposes Regulations (MMPR).
Green Relief is Canada’s first commercial aquaponics production facility, and Supreme operates the first hybridized, modular greenhouse in Canada. Both are committed to furthering the sustainability of cannabis production to protect the environment and use natural resources responsibly.
With the addition of the two new members, CMCIA now comprises 17 of the 24 companies that currently hold the 30 Health Canada licenses to cultivate and sell medical cannabis.
